Love this one and it comes from my gorgeous long time hairdresser Jess.
My daughter’s beautiful thick mane of hair was looking lank. She was fit and well and no matter how many times I brushed it, it looked scraggy and unkept. She gets a cut every school holiday and missed the winter holidays so I thought it may be due to needing a trim and showed my hairdresser a photo of her hair.
She immediately said – that’s a build-up of product and chlorine. (Even though she hadn’t been swimming much in winter, apparently chlorine can stay for a long time).
The solution was so simple and so effective I literally can’t believe how well it worked.
Three tablespoons of bi-carb soda (she has a lot of hair, so I needed a fair bit), good quality shampoo, mixed into a paste. Massage it on the scalp for a couple of minutes and run some of the paste through to the ends. Leave on for 15 minutes.
Wash out twice. We used dechlorinating shampoo on the second wash but that isn’t essential.
Condition with no more than a 20 cent piece amount of conditioner.
Dry naturally.
The results were absolutely amazing. Bright, shiny, thick hair once more!
