(I did toy with the thought of calling it the Antarctica Immunity Juice - maybe the next iteration).

It’s REALLY cold in Melbourne town this winter and there are lots of people down with nasty viruses. For me, immunity juices help keep me in good shape and lurgy free.

This juice is simple but effective. When I’m starting to feel like something is about to take hold, my body craves this juice. I give it credit for warding off numerous lurgies. Of course, I’m not a doctor so my evidence is based on personal experience but I can tell you this juice is full of potassium, vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin B9 (folate), vitamin C and the ginger has anti-inflammatory properties. All good stuff to help look after ourselves.

The juice includes

  • 1 cm cube of fresh ginger
  • 1 small green apple washed and cored but not peeled
  • 1 medium carrot washed nut not peeled
  • 1 medium peeled orange
  • 1 cup of water
  • Fresh mint to taste

Instruction

Mix in a juicer or blender and serve with ice and fresh mint on top.
